Flashback Friday

via September/October 2006
(Please note: We were a bunch of goof balls in these photos. And in the bottom one we were extremely bored one rainy day and decided to get dolled up and take pictures-in tube tops. We were weirdo's. haha)

Oh my word, how I miss this girl! Meet my gorgeous friend Stacey. My roommate for about 2 months while I was at Victory Bible College in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She was such a breath of fresh air. We had so many good times in such a short while and when I left Tulsa it broke my heart because I had found such a great friend. I miss friends like that.

One of my favorite memories with Stacey was when we got all dolled up and went to go see the movie John Tucker Must Die with our friend Alan. After the movie we were all craving chocolate so we bought a chocolate cake and a jug of milk. We went to a park beside our apartments and shared the cake. It was so spontaneous and delicious. I am so happy that I got to know such a wonderful person and got to share this amazing memory with her.

What's your memory for Flashback Friday?

Thursday's Thoughts

  • Why do I try to argue with a 4 year old? I mean, its like talking to a wall and I just end up getting more frustrated. haha. We are truly too much alike.
  • Also, I thought that it was the terrible 3's, not the horrendous 4's. I thought once 4 came along my little terror would be an angel. Sure she has those angelic moments, but she still has those moments when she is testing my patience. Like talking back, ignoring, and stomping her feet. I know that sometimes its to get my attention because I have my hands full with the little man, but I could use her help too. We really need to have a mother-daughter date night. Any ideas?
  • Ohio weather is so nuts! Monday and Tuesday it was in the mid 70's with a nice breeze and today its going to be a high of 102. aaahh. It wouldn't be so bad if it wasn't so humid.
  • Next week, it will just me and Emery. My darling little terror-Evangelina, will be going to the beach with my mom and step-dad for my step sister's wedding. It will be nice to have a bit of break from the headstrong 4 year old, but I will miss her terribly. Plus, I kind of wish I was invited. I could really use some beach time.
  • The husband and I have talked a lot about opening our own cantina and lunch truck. I am all down for the cantina! I think it would be a big hit here in Marietta. Especially, when college is in session. I have so many big ideas for the cantina. I'm just not sure where we should begin with it.

A monster of a margarita!
  • I am so ready for a margarita. It has been a long time since I had one. The one up above was so yummy! That was such a fun day. The husband took me up to Columbus for my birthday and treated me like a princess. I need more days like that. haha
  • I'm really excited for my husband's birthday this month. We are planning on having a big cookout and inviting several friends that we haven't seen in a while. Maybe i'll get my margarita then.
  • I want/need to start crocheting again. I just feel like I'm lost and I think that I just need a creative outlet. Plus, it wouldn't hurt to start working on some Christmas projects.
  • I am so excited about the big news/project that my dear friend, Chrissy from Whimsical Poppysmic, and I have in the works for you. So you definitely need to stay tuned because we will be announcing it here in the next few days.
What are your thoughts for today?

I Love...

My twinnie, Dominique! We are extreme opposites, but we are best friends!

What fun would it be to paint these and leave them all over town.
Or leave them in the bottom of gifts?

Against the Grain -City and Colour

I love phonographs and I am thinking of designing a tattoo of one for my shoulder.
I love the colors in this one.

Tuesday's Tunes

Hello lovelies,
Most who know me, know that I love music. I love singing and dancing (well, in the car and behind closed doors) to it. One of my favorite past times is going to concerts. Especially, small venue shows. I love finding new music and sharing what I find. But today, I am going to share with you one of my all time loves. A band that has been around for quite some time. A band that I have had the pleasure to see in small venues and large venues. Many know that I have a lover for pop punk. Its fun, catchy, and great to sing along with. My all time favorite pop punk band is New Found Glory.

Have you heard of them? You may have. A couple of their hits are: Hit or Miss and My Friends Over You. I absolutely adore these fellas. They have such a great personality. They are goofy and so energetic that its hard not to smile even thinking about them.

They just released a new video from their latest album Radiosurgery and I found it to be so catchy that I had to share it! Hope you enjoy it!

Hello lovelies!
Its time for another Mani Monday with the ever so lovely Glitter and Gloss and Justove.ly . And oh my goodness! The gorgeous Heather from Glitter and Gloss just favorited my nails from last week! Yay! I feel so honored! hehe.
This weeks nails are done with Revlon's Penthouse Pink, top coat, and silver glitter! :D I found the tutorial from the lovely Sarah of Polka Dots and Rosebuds. I fell in love with the look and I needed a cute mani for the wedding that I attended this weekend. It was perfect for the occasion.

What's on your nails today?

Flashback Friday

Easter 2007

Oh my word, look how young we looked then! Especially, the hubsy.
That was only a few weeks after we met for the first time and we were madly in love.
I can still remember the day we met, it truly feels like yesterday.
(cue flashback music  and wave)

Picture me, driving nervously to the bus station.
My stomach feeling flip floppy with butterflies. My hands shaking with anticipation.
Driving from the mall, where i make my living being a skin care specialist, to the bus station feels like eternity.
And of course, why would people pick today to be better drivers, so of course I'm my knuckles are white from clutching the steering wheel so tightly.
So many thoughts running through my mind.
"He's here!"
"I hope he's not some psychopath."
"I can't believe he traveled on a bus for 4 days just to meet me and spend 2 weeks with me."
I finally reach my destination and park around the building so that I can cool my nerves a bit in the chill of the February air.
I turn the corner and that's when I see him.
His back is turned to me, but i know it is him. He is wearing a Set Your Goals hoodie and shivering in the cold.
"Beto?" I ask tentatively.
He turns around and smiles.
In that second, I fell deeply in love with him.

(Back to present)

Thinking about that moment still makes my heart flutter.
Its amazing how love finds us.
Love found my husband and I thousands and thousands apart.
And love brought us together.
I never imagined having a man that would leave everything that he knows to be with me.
He came to only to visit, but he ended up never leaving.

Do you have any memories that make your heart flutter?

Thursday's Thoughts

  • I cannot wait to visit this gorgeous place. This is the view from the Mayan Palace in Puerto Penasco, Mexico. The husband and I will be taking a little road trip from small town, Ohio to this gorgeous beach at the end of August for my brother-in-laws wedding! I am super excited!
  • I miss my husband. Since having Emery, my husband and I decided that it would be best for me to be a SAHM. So, he got a second job to make up the difference. He leaves the house at 6am in the morning and doesn't return until 10:15pm. I have found out that distance does, in fact, make the heart grow stronger.
  • Can we just slow time just a bit. I can't believe how fast my little man is growing. It just seems like yesterday that I had him. Time just goes to fast!
  • I am obsessing over Eureka. Have you seen this show? I honestly don't know why it has taken me this long to sit down and watch it, but I'm glad I did. I am such a nerd. Thanks Hulu, for feeding my addiction!
  • Chris Hemsworth is one sexy beast! That's all I have to say on that matter.
  • I love nap time. I love it even more when I get to nap also, but when I don't its still nice because the house is so quiet.
  • I miss romance. Having two little one makes it hard to find romance anymore. And nothing gets my fire going like romance. The husband doesn't quite get it. He's always in the mood. Me, on the other hand, I need the spark. Its nice to know that he's still interested when I'm at my worse.
  • My husband is a sly one. So a while ago, before it was a big deal, my husband tricked me into reading Fifty Shades of Grey. How in the world did he do this? Well, he told me that he heard that it was kind of like Twilight and the other vampire books that I've read. So, I purchased it on my kindle. Boy, was he wrong. Of course, we all know now after hearing all about it, that it is the smuttiest book ever! I confronted him with this and he just smirked and said, "I know. I wanted you to get in the mood." Silly man. Now, I can read some smut, but golly, this would make a hooker blush. I skipped over most of the book because I couldn't handle it. haha.
What are you thoughts for today?
Anything exciting planned for the weekend?

Happy Wednesday, friends!
I hope everyone is as excited for the weekend as I am. Its going to be another busy one for our house, but at least I get to spend it with the love of my life. Speaking of love, I have so many things that I just love, from my hubby and kiddos, to the way the grass feels in between my toes. And so, today I am going to share just a few of those loves! I will also be linking up with the beautiful Krystinia @ Lollipops for her What I Love Wednesday link party.

Silly Little Man!

Emery
6/16/12

I just had to share this photo that my gorgeous cousin, Kaitlyn took. I cannot get over this face. Every time that I look at this picture it just makes me giggle! He is the cutest little man ever, of course, I am biased.
Don't you think this should be an add for something? Ahhh!! I just want to squeeze him!
I have to admit, this baby is seriously one of the most happiest babies ever! He almost always wakes up happy! There's always a smile on his face! I have truly been blessed with such an amazing little man!
Don't you just want to squeeze those cheeks? hahaha.
Maybe he should be a baby model! haha.
I absolutely adore my little man! ♥

Speaking of the little man, he is now awake and fussing at me from his swing. Right now he is in that, "you-can't-ever-put-me-down-mom-NEVER-EVER" phase. So I pretty much spend most of his waking hours holding him and playing with him. I'm not complaining, but sometimes you need a break. haha.

Time to go cuddle with my little monster!

Mani Monday- Pop of color.

Nothing like a Mani Monday link up to start off the new blog.
I used to blog over at Positively Positive and I absolutely loved what I accomplished with that blog, but over the last few months, I changed and what I wanted to do with the blog changed. So, i decided it was time for a fresh start! So if you are following me from Positively Positive, thanks! I absolutely love all of my readers. If you are new, then, I can't wait to get to know you! It truly is amazing how friendships can form through blogland!

Now, I am joining up with Glitter and Gloss in Mani Monday! I absolutely love doing my nails (when I find the time.) Its a fantastic creative outlet and way to show your own personal style. I have a difficult time finding the time to do my nails, but I intend to make more time for myself!

Mani time!

Cute, huh?
I am obsessed with grey, white and yellow!
There is just something so summery about those colors together!

Happy Mani Monday!!! ♥
